Say hello to Australia's culture

Wanneroo market felt a little overhyped. But it stirred up a little something in me as I inhaled the sweet scent of green apples, bananas, melons, pears, grapes, persimmons… I could say that the scent was rather intoxicating. HAHA. Imagine an entire market blanketed with 100% natural fruity perfume! Awesome. For a moment I thought to myself, if I had a DSLR, I could take a million and one great shots in this place. I remember helping one of junior with her art and we went to a fruit stall and I helped her with her photoshoot using CLD’s camera.
Oh, and those really cheap paintings and postcards. My mind went on this exhilarating ride thinking how if I owned them, how I would frame them and decorate my room. But of course, since I do not have my own proper room and house, I decided to not be unfair to those great artworks and leave them there for some potential buyer who see value in it! LOL. Sometimes I think I dream too much… … Seriously Gloria, get your head out of the clouds!
In the late afternoon, we headed down to Mindarie Beach to watch THE sunset that took my breath away and brought me to cloud nine, and blew my mind. The use of hyperbole is very appropriate here. The seagulls flying around so freely, singing their bird song with backdrop of the beach, and eventually witnessing the sunset actually made me tear. It wasn’t a melancholic emotional tear, but a tear of awe of God’s creation. The colours of the sky can never be emulate ever again on canvas. Because I am so boring, while my friend who went overseas came back talking about the most beautiful girls he saw during his travel, I came back talking about the most beautiful natural environment. Sound so loser right, but it’s something I do appreciate and love. At times I even think that the photos I took does not do nature any justice.
To see a few old couples fishing in the cold, and having a bottle of wine in between them, watching the sunset… it enjoy watching people doing that. I am bored hearing couples going shopping together, catching movies together, doing a lot of things together, but it is very rare to see couples spending an entire day together enjoying each other’s company more than the activity itself. In fact, over here, the activity almost seem non-existent. Do I sound idealistic? Heh.
I enjoy the simple things.
At night, we had an Aussie-style BBQ!!! Lamb, big bowl of salad, pretzels, yummy chips, kebab, the sweetest corn I’ve ever tasted, all these bbq-ing took place in the cold, which actually made perfect sense to me. Hot weather and still BBQ? Sounds like a masochistic way of barbequing self as a form of suicide. HAHA.
My parents had wine, and before I could take my glass of wine, Uncle Michael insisted that I tried Cruizer, some vodka. Ohmy. I have never drank so much in my life before!!! My threshold for alcohol is almost non-existent but I think it is getting better this holiday with all that alcohol consumption. Anyway, it was one of the best drinks I’ve tasted. Probably because often when I go Timbre, the sort of drink I select tastes weird with a few exception. Oh, and we had this mini camp fire at the side to keep warm.
I feel totally immersed in this Australia culture! Love love love <3 <3 <3
