LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE PERTH!!!!!!!
Sunday, June 14, 2009 x 8:33 PM

I am back from down under. Finding it hard to adapt to the weather here cause the temperature was always below 20 and the past few days, it was 3-4 degrees Celsius.
I miss Perth!!!! ☹ I miss seeing the greens. It is a beautiful country, filled with greens, the most magnificent sunsets which was so mind-blowing that I actually teared as I soaked in those precious few minutes, the beautiful star-lit skies where shooting stars are visible, a land of rainbows, stunning vineyards, tasted some of the best wines and beers ever, the most friendly people who will greet you with a big smile as you take a stroll/walk/run/jog along the beach or at the parks, birds that were free to roam and willing to be friendly with people, got nudged by a really handsome tame horse and I don’t care what people tell me about swine flu, or how dirty animals are, I kissed that horse and gave it all the love my little heart could give to it, cows, kangaroos, emus, parrots, seagulls, eating ice cream in the freezing cold and just chatting, going on a sugar high diet, Burns Beach, Mindarie Beach, walking on the softest sand, seeing people fishing, thinking of people diving to catch abalones especially in August, kids walking around barefooted, or jumping about in their wellington boots, bathing in the freezing cold ice water, eating a Korean hotpot on a cold rainy day, taking super long drives to places, taking things easy the aussie way, trying 50 over types of wines, 8 over types of beer, 20 over types of cheese, standing in front of the heater trying to keep warm, having a aussie style bbq in the freezing cold, having a fire to keep warm, lying on the grass in the pitch dark park when its 3 degrees at night and star gazing, shopping, falling in love with everything at Margaret River, watching the ducks sleep and swim and bum in the lake, taking shelter at some arcade at North Bridge, having French style breakfast, the most aromatic coffee I’ve ever tasted, the most tummy warming hot chocolate with 3 very pretty, fluffy, powdered marshmallows, admiring the beautiful roses and tulips, the picturesque ponds, fountains, rivers, lakes, oceans, beaches, watching people surfboard in the cold water, tucking in early, waking up early and yet feeling rested, the splashes of colours at Wanneroo market, standing at that big patch of land where the favourite festival-October Festival is held and thinking of the many fun things people would be doing, seeing lights that look like jewels from a distance, the most fascinating refund policy, those sweet shops that I could only visualize as I read all those English books appeared right before my eyes, big plots of land in which I can lie and do nothing, have picnics, socialize, have picnics, free bbq pits, the best fish and chips, and freshest seafood, Aruluen and its tulips festival, the most hilarious aussie commercials, watching the cool makings of chocolates at Margaret River and free tasting, the cold mornings whereby mist will come out from your mouth as you speak……
I want to return in December!! From today onwards, I am going to bring food from home or eat at home, in an attempt to save money so I can return in December. To the South baby! Must go Albany and do that tree top walk!!! Rochester Park!!! Fishing!! Diving!!! Rottnest Island!! Feed the dolphins!!! Swim with them!!! Play golf!!! I am a lover of nature, believe me!!! I want to live there forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decided to type out what I penned down during my stay in Austrlia…so here goes..
Day 1
I think I want to migrate to Australia. Weather here is cold but I adore it. It beats than being some solar panel. I love how there are Kangaroos crossing signs everywhere and little traffic lights so I can drive at at least 140km/h without having to stop at like every 5 minutes?
The very first thing that came to my mind as I peered through the airplane window was : This is beautiful. The lights glimmered just like how I thought a city should be. They were like jewels waiting for me to admire them. ☺ Magnificent. I may be handphoneless, mac-less, so forth but I am a new Australian convert. I have no qualms about migrating/studying here in Australia. It is a beautiful country. PS: I saw many Subway outlets, the wide array of yogurts, the most colourful fresh salads, the sweet arresting smell of the fruits…I am 100% sure I will survive here. Alright, I have 3 hours left to sleep and then it’d be 7am. ☺ Exhausted. Sure. But TOTALLY happy.
Tomorrow a beautiful swing awaits my lovely bum to rest on! <3
I’m in love.
Ok rats. Australia is causing all that maternal instincts within me to surface. As we were walking around West lake today, I saw many pretty cakes, pastries, cookies, doughnuts, etc and I thought to myself how lovely it would be to be able to bake all these and then distribute it to friends, or better still, invite friends over for dinner and whip up a fantastic meal for all to enjoy. The vegetables looked extremely fresh and many were organic!!! ☺
At that moment, I had this urge to throw a dinner when I am back in Singapore(sigh) and whip up some really yummilicious food. Oh wait…the meats here in Australia is so much cheaper and fresher; in addition, the vegetables are abundant!!! ☺
You know what I like about the people here? They know/respect your space and hence they give you the privacy you deserve as you shop. Oh, not to forget… I like seeing these cute, tall guys walk past me and guys with they so cool messy out of bed hair and guys with dreadlocks!!! They looked good. Hahaha. Caucasian babies are sooooo cute!!! (I told you Australia is bringing out all those maternal instincts within me. Bleah~~)
Truth be told, another reason why I like it here is that I can buy all the boots I want and wear them without being worried that people would give me weird stares. Pok. Oh and for practical reasons why I won’t/can’t wear boots in sunny old Singapore. I like boots because they have so much attitude!!! ☺
I found out that over here, when you’re 18 years old, you ought to move out and be independet. Man, I half wish we Singaporean kids had such a culture too…then again, it means coming home to no fruits at home… hmm… A lot of a care run on gas which explains why everybody practically drives. If I do decide to migrate to Austrlia, I am so getting a car (It’s cheap too!!) Of course, and my license too.
The houses here are so beautiful. I want to live here FOREVER!!! Spacious, a garage, pretty view, quiet, clean walkways, cool long walks, and they place where I’m staying, Wattlebird Loop, has this well-raved breakfast placed called Sugar and Spice which serves the most delicious French style breakfast, the aromatic coffee, everything awesome, plus its near the train station, Joondalup, has a park just across the place where I’m staying, a forest, a lake with many ducks swimming and quacking away, a lot of colourful parrots, birds of different kids, flying around FREELY, birds that are more than happy to be fed with your breadcrumbs, and come close to you that you need not even consider putting salt on its tail to make it stay.
If I lived here, I would ride around in my bicycle with a cute red bell and a cool red helmet and go around exploring this B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L place! If I really lived here, I would go for a daily walk and sometimes a run!!! :D
Did I mention? After breakfast this morning, as we were walking, I saw a full rimmed rainbow. It made my day! My eyes gleamed…
How happy am I here?
Very. Thank God for such an opportunity to marvel at his creation! I crossed the street smiling to myself to any stranger who is willing to receive my smile and return me with one! ☺
Let me just repeat myself for the 100000X time that I am FREEZING!!! :D:D:D:D
