Day 4:
It is so COLD!!! This morning it was 4 degrees Celsius!! Even the walk in the park could not keep me warm. Brr… I really love the parks here!!!!!!
However, I think today, that Little Miss Busy was starting to surface again as we waited for something to happen after breakfast. I could not sit still, I hate to be sitting about waiting, doing nothing. So FINALLY, we headed for Wanaroo Market. Nothing fantastic just that it was really quite a sight and smell to smell a pool of apples-which was refreshing and sweet. Felt like diving into those pools of apples. ☺ ☺ When I was young, I used to get really amused by those soft serve ice cream trucks that I read in my books and wished that Singapore had those too. Pity what we have in Singapore don’t come close. But today I saw that truck at the market today! It was fantastic!!! And yes, both the young and the old had this big grin when they saw the truck. However, Uncle Michael said that it is nothing but fats, so I reconsidered and decided against it. I shall patiently wait for my gelato!!! Go for the best!!!
Sigh. It is SO sad that no one is here with me to get all excited as we pass by grape vines, orange trees, lemon trees (I’d like to change my point of view, I feel so empty, waiting for you, and nothing ever happen, and I wonder. I wonder how I wonder why, yesterday you told me about he blue blue sky and all that I can see is just another lemon treeeeee), horses, cows, sheep… I point at them all and feel so happy!! Sigh. Maybe I have just been hanging out with the youths so much that every small little thing fascinates me. Hmm… let’s just say I am appreciating and admiring God’s creation.
My mum went crazy at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory. Had pork knuckles, grilled fish, cold cuts, salad.. Everything was delicious. Daryl and Gwen would have loved it although when it came the first person I thought of was Ben chan!!! All that pork! But oh my goodness, it was so big!!! Although I am not a big fan of pork, but I tried the pork knuckle and man, it was delicious!! The German beer went very well with it. Elmars brewed it themselves! <3 I love german beer, drank a mug by myself. This is the first time I rave about beer man. Uncle mike is a man who has traveled a lot and he has pockets and threads of stories to tell. I enjoy listening to him. ☺
Standing on that big patch of field at Elmars felt like the world came to a stand still. The cold wind freezing the muscles on my face, shadows of the horses looked so pretty. All I did was absorb all that I could. Take it all in. ☺ Sigh. Lovely.
Some interesting facts I learnt:
1. October festival is the best time to party at Elmars. Cheap food, great fun, nice scenery, waitresses that dress up the traditional way, and it becomes an all jolly atmosphere! FUN!!
2. In December, Joondalup people would decorate their houses with Christmas lights etc. A competition would be held and the top prize is $10000!!! I mean, prize is one thing, but imagine how the entire area would look. It would be a sight to behold!!!
3. Best time to eat oysters especially in France is in October, September, November, and December. Other months are not that good because the oysters would be reproducing.
Indeed, it is strange, I mean different to travel with my dad as compared to when I travel with my sister. When I travel with my sister, we walk from day till night, and we try a mixture of things here and there. With my parents, we have fine dining!! I can’t say I prefer one to the other, but it is just different. ☺ haha.
It was so cold down in the valley just now that the car fogged up!!!! Can you believe it? The windows were so cold and I could feel the cold air seep it. Cool!
